Cubital tunnel syndrome

  • Ulnar nerve is compressed on the Cubital tunnel at elbow.
  • Cause : leaning on the elbow, prolonged elbow flexion, or injury 
  • Risk factors
    • Prior fracture or dislocation of the elbow
    • Bone spurs/arthritis of the elbow
    • Swelling of the elbow joint
    • Cysts near the elbow joint
    • Repetitive or prolonged activities that require the elbow to be bent or flexed
  • Symptoms : Numbness, tingling on fifth and medial side of 4th digits, weakness of the 4th, 5th muscles
  • Test : Tinel’s test on elbow
