Golfer’s Elbow

  • What is it?
    • Common flexor tendon at the medial epicondyle of the humerus inflammation due to overuse
    • Common flexor : flexor carpi radialis, plamaris longus, flexor carpi ulnaris, flexor digitorum superficialis
  • Causes
    • repeated forceful wrist and finger movements
    • Weak shoulder and wrist muscles
    • Weight lifting
    • Golf – swinging clubs forcefully
    • Frequent use of other hand tools on a continuous basis
  • Symptoms
    • Stiffness in your elbow
    • Tenderness and pain, usually on the inner side of your elbow or the inner side of your forearm
    • Pain when flexing the wrist and fingers
    • Tingling or numbness in your fingers (usually the ring and little fingers)
    • Weakness in your hands and wrists
