Knee and leg – Osgood Schlatter Disease

  • It is  a condition that causes pain and swelling below the knee joint, where the patellar tendon attaches to the top of the shinbone (tibia), a spot called the tibial tuberosity.
  • Cause
    • Age : Children hood, adolescents 
    • Activity 
  • Symptoms
    • Knee pain and tenderness at the tibial tubercle
    • Swelling at the tibial tubercle
    • Tight muscles in the front or back of the thigh
  • Treatment
    • Stretching exercises : quadriceps and hamstring muscles
    • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). 
    • Ice.  Icing the inflamed area may reduce pain and swelling. 
    • If quadriceps and hamstrings, ITB are tight : Trp, fascia, swedish massage ( but, contraindicate on pain area)
